Central Reform Congregation

Landscape Architecture ⋅ St Louis, MO

The landscape for the Central Reform Congregation is conceived as a place for reflection, meditation, prayer, and outdoor fellowship within a dense urban setting. A sequence of gardens balance moments of enclosure and openness—offering spaces for quiet contemplation while inviting both congregation and community into a shared landscape.

Woven throughout are distinct yet connected places: a Memory Walk, the “Coat-Tails” Garden, Common Ground, a Courtyard Garden, and a Children’s Garden with planting plots where young members grow produce and flowers to share with neighbors. Together, these spaces form a living framework for gathering, remembrance, and connection.
